Hanover is still a fine place to be on a warm June day, with graduates packing station wagons and U-hauls on their way out of town and older alums strolling down Main Street with their class identity signs and symbols proudly displayed. We heard that mini-reunion co-plan- ner Bud Gedney had taken a fall at his home in Bradford, Vermont, and spent a month in hospital and rehab getting marginally back on his feet. His fall wasn't far but caused tendons above both knees to snap and require rethreading. He and Ginny were in the process of moving to a smaller, easier to get-around-in home in North Claremont, New Hampshire, when the accident occurred. We caught him just home from confinement and getting around on a walker, his spirits remarkably high. The prognosis is good for near-full recovery. Their kids aimed to and helped to complete the move. The new home is even closer to the Dartmouth hockey rink, where they are regulars. Bud and John Hatheway both reported that plans are complete for this years fall mini, October 7 to 9. Last-minute reservations accepted. John had a large lip cancer removed recently but claimed that the plastic surgeons expertise improved on the original.

Class prexy Bud Elliot is working to sustain our class' support of the Hood Museum intern program. The annual income from dues and class reserve funds is not enough and a few have ponied up some extra bucks but more is needed. Suggest you contact him at belliox319@rcn.com to see how you can help in this worthy endeavor.

Tom Huffman writes a column comparable to this in the Dartmouth Medical School Alumni News& Notes. He shares news of another award received by DMS classmate Sam Katz for his work in lifesaving vaccines and other discoveries. Another classmate, Lou Clarke, is reported to be slowing down a little in the Portland, Maine, area after his circumnavigation of the earth in a small sailboat. He finds time to be an active volunteer in a wide range of activities, however.

Enjoy autumn!
