I'm just sneaking this submission in under the wire, so I'm going to go straight to the news without delay. If this column appears to be shorter than most, it is—there's been a relative dearth of news lately (or at least of news that's made its way to me).

Unai Montes-lrueste is doing everything within his power to get Jill Martinez elected to Congress from California's 24th Congressional District. Unais official title is campaign director: you can read more about his candidate at www.jillmartinez2006.com.

News from the Joe Nagraj Brain Tumor Awareness Benefit Event, held in New York City last November, comes to us from Dorothy Hui. The event, which fell the day before National Brain Tumor Awareness Day, took place at Arlene's Grocery in SOHO and drew over 300 people. The concert featured performances by Stand Up Eight (featuring Josh Nadelburg, Andy May '97, Mike Roberts '00 Anthony Jurado and Alan Grubner), Loaded Dreams (featuring Gene Park and Dorothy Hui), Dimestore Scenario (featuring Rachel Federman), The Corduroys and June Fool—all bands with which Joe played at one time or another. The members of Stand Up Eight traveled from San Francisco and Seattle to reunite for this special memorial event. Through donations made at the door, the concert raised more than $5,000, which was donated to the Brain Tumor Foundation in Joes memory. In addition to the performers, Dartmouth alums in attendance included Christine Cuoco (who helped plan the event), Kajal Jhaveri, Nancy Fopiano, Melissa Davis, Matthew Root '97, Brook Detterman, Barrett Shaver, Claire Smith, Rick Kim 96, Andrea Gonzalez '99, Carol Lee '97, Dan Jordan '99, Adam Siegel, Aaron Grotas, Robyn Brown, Nick Gugliuzza 97, Cosby Hall '97; Matt Clavel '97 and Meredeth Epstein '97. Look for pictures from the event in an upcoming class newsletter.
