Roses are red
Violets are blue
No one sent news
Now what do I do?
Actually I do get some e-mails directly from the College.
Without any news
Normally I'm sad
But wait a minute
Mikey Lehman's a dad
Congrats to Mikey and wife Leigh on the August 4 birth of son August Barker Lehman. Do not assume he would have been called April if the birth was four months earlier. Rather, August is a name from a few generations back in the Lehman family, while Barker is the maiden name of Leigh's mom. All are doing well and likely celebrating the advantageous travel soccer birthday of young August.
With a deadline approaching
It's cause to be nervous
I still know David Searby
Is in the Foreign Service
David is heading back to the Dominican Republic where he had his first assignment in 1989 and will head the press office there. He plans on lots of golf, tennis and beaching as well as enjoying what he considers the best beer around, Presidente. I guess David forgot about the Stroh's beer we had when he stopped at my house in Michigan.
Very few e-mails
Is still neurosurgeoning
I'm pleased to convey that Dr. Phil "Feel Good" Yazbak has been named president and chairman of the board for the Neuroscience Group of NE Wisconsin. By the way, Feel Good is not his professional nickname, in case you were wondering. This group (clearly in dire need of a catchy acronym), established in 1991, is a multispecialty practice focused on the comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with brain, spine and nervous system problems. The group is presently constructing a neuroscience center that will consolidate their wide spectrum of offered services. If you are in Neenah, Wisconsin, and have any related symptoms (wearing cheeseheads and exhibiting Packer-mania do not count), contact Phil.
Back in Hanover today
The campus looked fine
Here's a quick shout
To the class of '59
I figured since my dad (John MacManus 59) never writes to his class secretary I could mention him in the class of '85 column. Come to think of it, he hasn't written me lately either. I suspect he will soon. I also suspect that as a class we can do better than mentioning three classmates in the next column. So to Leslie, in the context of the poker craze sweeping the ESPN airwaves, I raise you one classmate for your next column.
So blue is the violet
Red is the rose
Was this column good?
One last random thought: I wonder why I include my address below. Might someone actually come over in person to share some news?
