Looking forward to March 12 only two weeks away, I feel confident that I can deliver this oeuvre to my fellow exercisers at cardio rehab, where I go three times a week:
Ninety-seven is sure a lot Still I haven't gone to pot Maybe I'll be here for more Living still is not a bore Look for me up on the bike Treadmill too is what I like Nurses are a constant joy Always nice to this old boy
I'm so old that my friends in heaven will think I didn't make it. Our numbers are still dwindling, now 21. We've lost four: Cal Fisher, the Denver, Colorado, doctor; Clarence Farr, who transferred to M.I.T. after freshman year but enjoyed '32 news and wrote notes for the 25 th and 50th reunion booklets; Jim Miller, who was my good friend, living with Buzz Burrows across from me for our first two years in Middle Mass; and Joe Roberts, who we all knew—class secretary and regular reunion attendee including the last in 2002.1 checked on Lou Heavenrich but his hearing is limited so Evalyn, his wife, told me he is mobile and lucid, reads Life, Reader's Digest and books, and exercises guided by his nurse. Their three children have produced 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who brighten their days. Lillian (Mrs. Milt) Alpert has moved from Florida to a Memphis, Tennessee, independent living facility near her son Bruce '69 and family. He writes, "Her apartment is sunny and bright with more activities available than on a cruise ship."
