Mea culpa for missing the last column. The deadline was the night before my sons birthday and two days before my daughters. I was busily baking cupcakes for school and taking care of other birthday preparations and, to be perfectly honest, I totally forgot about the column. I hope I will not have another mental lapse—but I can't promise anything. Our 25th reunion is approaching, which means we are getting older and I may be getting senile.
Marian Zischke Baldauf is married and living in the San Francisco area. She and her husband, Hans, have two children, Fritz (51/2) and Liesl (4). They are living a happy and busy life. Marian has been at Dodge & Cox for more than 20 years! We're not that old are we? When I heard from Marian she was planning a nice sabbatical trip to Europe with her family for the month of June. They were planning to spend three weeks in northern Italy and then a week in Germany. Hope you enjoyed the trip!
Congratulations to Jeff Reed, coach of Hanover High School boys lacrosse team. He led the team to the state championship, posting its best-ever record: 17-1.
Lucy Parti Merrylees is working as a family practice physician in Craftsbury, Vermont. She sees patients three days a week and does rounds on Fridays. Her husband, Bill, is working on an obesity prevention grant. Lucy, Bill and children Ben (12) and Eliza (9) enjoy many outdoor activities: nordic skiing, biking, hiking, etc. In addition to her work in medicine, Lucy helps out at her children's school. Lucy mentioned that she did run into Becca Glimp Brewster, husband Toby and their four sons hiking up Mount Moosilauke.
Lisa Leffert Schwamm is also a physician. She is an anesthesiologist at Mass General Hospital. Her husband, Lee, is a neurologist at Mass General. Lisa and Lee have two sons, ages 13 and 10.1 called Lisa on the evening she was getting her 13-year-old son ready to go to sleep-away camp for the summer, so I did not keep her long on the phone.
