It is 2008—and the year of your 70th anniversary—wow! Shortly around your receiving this magazine, you will also be receiving information on the upcoming 70th reunion Friday to Sunday, September 26-28. It is my understanding that, for the most part, events will take place at the Hanover Inn. I'm sure we will be in the company of other proud and profoun' classes of Dartmouth..

Briefly, there will be a reception/dinner Friday evening at the Inn; Saturday, a light breakfast followed by a class meeting and then a football game; and culminating with a reception/dinner that Saturday evening. Sunday would probably see a class picture followed by a lunch. As you can see, this is just a brief overview of what will probably take place. Along with your alma mater, I am hoping that as many of you as possible will try (really try!) to attend. Again, more to follow. It will be a busy year!

Had a wonderful conversation with George Porter and his dear wife, Lela. George and Lela have been in an "assisted living" complex in Warwick, Rhode Island, for about a year. According to George, "We went from eight rooms to three rooms; quite an undertaking." There are many of you reading this column who can relate to this endeavor! I want to thank the Right Rev. Robert Harvey for his notes (and I will do what I can to assist you with your request).

With deep sadness, I must tell you of the loss of fellow classmates Royce Randlett, Robert Egelhoff, Hal Berman, Henry Beck Jr. and Edwin Kirch 111. Sincerest of sympathy to their very dear families.
