A note from Dick Brister advises that, "The pole vault champion is still alive, but I reach my heights with a walker now instead of a pole." He has been settled for many years at Willow Valley, a retirement community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His days have been brightened by his girlfriend, Sally, and by regular visits from his daughter Barbara and her husband. Sounds good to me.

Ray Builter was surprised in January while reading an article in the New Yorker magazine titled "The Roving Eye." The item was about a female photographer of note, who in 1942 was an accredited war correspondent working for Life with our own Dave Scherman, photographer par excellence! You never know where you might find reference to a '36 er.

Acard from a daughter of Dorothy Earl (widow of Ralph) informs that Dorothy has been moved to an enrichment living facility in The Nottingham Jamesville, New York. We hope that she is comfortably settled there. From the card it sounds as though Dorothys two daughters and three grandchildren are all leading busy and challenging lives.

We know that Bob Button had a stroke a couple of years ago but was holding his own by continuing to play the piano at local venues. Recent (mid-February) word from Decima is that he is not doing so well. We hope that he will persevere and conquer his new problems.

Recent word from son Ted that Walter Mertz died January 3. We offer our sympathies to the family.

In the recent obituary for Clay Mellor the name of his surviving spouse, Elizabeth Williams Mellor, was not mentioned. The omission was due to incomplete information supplied to the College and the class. We apologize to Elizabeth.
