I am writing these notes in early February in anticipation of being in Hawaii at deadline time.
A recent telephone message from Don McCorkindale indicated that Louise and he were pleased with their assisted living facility in Chatham, Massachusetts, and that so far in 2008 the Chatham Light has survived the Northeasters. The sad news in Dons report was to report the death of John Robinson, a Chatham neighbor and Cape Codder of a number of years.
Bud Miskell recently sent me a lengthy piece from The Boston Globe highlighting the accomplishments of Joe Crowley, who passed away in January. Other recent deaths of classmates: Doug Root last October and Harry Gustafson in November. Our condolences to all their families.
On a pleasanter note let me correct a couple of numbers: Our 65 th reunion will be in the fall! Correct dates: September 26-28. Information regarding details should arrive from the College in July. Yes, we will be staying at the Hanover Inn as guests of the College.
In a recent conversation with our hard-working money raiser Bing Donaldson he reported that his paddle tennis game may not be improving but it is great for dealing with the-winter blahs! We had a brief discussion about the Alumni Fund. Bing seemed to share my view that the fund leadership didn't win many points telling 85-and 86-year-old-geezers how much they should contribute.
Will the Cape Cod area 43s try a June get-to-gether this year? Maybe. If so, it will be by phone reservations on short notice.
Aloha! Keep well!
