The occasional rain didn't dampen the spirits of the hundreds of '97s who journeyed back to Hanover for our reunion. Here's what some of our classmates are doing.

Steve Wolkoff lives in Santa Monica, California, and is shopping around his just- completed novel about Bohemian artists drawn into criminal activity. He is also an accomplished painter and has shown his work in numerous galleries.

Tim Curtin works for IBM and was excited about becoming a new homeowner with his purchase of a condo in Burlington, Vermont.

Jaime Guzman works with developing schools in his hometown of Chicago, where he lives with wife Mayra.

Christin Caroselli is in-house counsel for a pharmaceutical company in New Jersey.

David Bruder is a corporate associate at Covington & Burling in New York.

Evelyn Ko works for DIRECTV in Los Angeles.

Vicky (Martinez) Garcia and her husband, Ted, live in San Antonio, Texas, where Vicky works for USAA.

Maria Simental also lives in San Antonio and works in the nonprofit sector.

Jake Krueger started Four Chairs, a theater company in New York.

Kathryn Scharbach is the pediatrics chief resident at Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center. Her partner Sarah Nosal is a family medicine physician in the South Bronx.

Neal Dickert and wife Rachel Derr are finishing their residencies at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and getting ready to move to Atlanta, where Neal is going to begin a fellowship in cardiology. Their son Jackson turned 1 in June.

Eric Schmidt and Cristina (Dugan) Schmidt are also in Baltimore. Eric is a resident at Johns Hopkins and Cristina is a business and real estate transactions attorney at a Baltimore law firm.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are busy adapting the screenplay for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, the popular children's story. The film should come out next year.

Peter Mancoll was making the rounds on crutches after an old soccer injury resurfaced. We reminisced about our River Cluster room in the basement of Hinman, which, sadly, doesn't exist anymore. Peter writes software and lives outside Washington, D.C.

Darren Wercinski reported that "two hardpartying Heorotians," he and Brent Retter, also known as Axe and Smash, "parried like rock-stars and went an impressive 11-1 on the pong tables. I felt bad for the punishment we administered to so many classmates. But even after 10 years, some things never change." Darren owns a marketing company in Min- neapolis. He is married with three children. Brent is an investment advisor with CIBC in Toronto and is married with two children.

Many of TheD's senior directorate gathered at Murphy's before our class dinner. Here's the scoop.

Siobhan Gorman Carpenter is making quite a name for herself at The Wall Street Journal, where she covers national security and recently had a front-page story. She and husband Neil live outside Washington, D.C.

Tim Fitzgibbons is a Foreign Service officer on the India desk at the State Department in Washington, D.C. His boyfriend Jonathan Weyer is also at the State Department.

Maggie Fritz works for an international consulting firm. She and husband Kwaku Driskell live in Brooklyn.

Jack Vitayanon is a senior litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York.

Amy Semet just finished her first year of her Ph.D. program at Columbia.

Mary Ellen Moore is off to Copenhagen, where husband Neal Rich, who works for Boston Consulting Group, is being transferred for a few years. Mary Ellen most recently worked in breaking news for the Chicago Tribune's Web site. She, Neal and 9-month-old daughter Marley are looking forward to their Danish adventure.

Thanks to Ben Sweetser, Kristin Canavan and the reunion committee for organizing a fantastic weekend. It was great to see so many of you.
