The 65th reunion October 2, 3 and 4 is fast approaching. Events like this don’t just create themselves. It takes months of hard work and many consultations with the alumni office. There were accommodations to arrange, meals to be set up, meeting places to be found, transportation, laying on the Marching Band and the Glee Club and trips around the campus that ’44s would find interesting. The ’44s keeping all these balls in the air at the same time are Eric Barradale and his indispensable right hand, Joan Barradale.
The wonderful things in store for us are as follows: rooms at the Inn, a reception, two dinners (one with the Dartmouth Aires) and a pregame luncheon at the Inn, bus tour of the campus highlighting buildings funded by ’44 gifts, ’44 tours of the professional schools, a campus tree identification walk, a guided tour of the ’44 Place and Hier Alcove, Chalk Talk by a Dartmouth professor, football game (Penn) with pregame serenade by the Dartmouth Marching Band, exhibit of class artists and authors, Rauner archives exhibit, photos of the class, many needing identification (we hope by some of you), a special room reserved for socializing, class meeting and, on Sunday morning, the memorial service and class photo on the steps of Dartmouth Hall.
With all this, how can you resist? Come one, come all! Our condolences to the family and friends of Frank Douglas Davis, who died January 31.
