Thanks for all the updates. Please keep them coming! Starting us off, Caitlin Bronner wrote in to pass along the news that on February 1 she and her husband, Martin Lindberg, welcomed the birth of their first child, Charlotte. “Martin and I are not sleeping much these days, but we’re both absolutely thrilled! Charlotte is already set with a full ensemble of Dartmouth gear (even socks!) thanks to gifts from Allison Aab!”
Emily (Swistel) Portnoy also had exciting news to share: “I am the proud mother of a wonderful 20-month-old son named Joshua who is very verbal—which may not come as a surprise for those who know his mom! I’m also expecting our second child the last week of June. I’m still in N.Y.C. working as a consumer and brand strategist at Grey NY Advertising, most recently on Pantene, Smucker’s, Jif and Sargento cheese. I’ve been married almost five years and life is going fast, but I feel like it was just yesterday we were all together in Hanover. Looking forward to seeing everyone for our reunion in 2011!”
On February 4 Brandt Bowden and his wife, Mary Kay (Vanderbilt ’02), welcomed their first son into the world, Russell Murry Bowden. “Russell joined us about a month earlier than expected, but he appears to be acclimating to his Houston, Texas, home nicely.”
Hollis von Summer and her husband, Mike Kennedy, welcomed their son Dean Xander Thomas Kennedy last April 7. He’s a good and happy baby and Hollis and Mike are “crazy for him!” Hollis, Mike and Xander are currently living in Miami, where Mike is a pilot but will be relocating, most likely back to the Northeast, in June.
Ross Fenderson has accepted a position as marketing manager at Green Mountain Coffee in Waterbury, Vermont. “I spent the past three years working as a brand manager at Colgate Palmolive in New York City. My wife, Deirdre, and I are looking forward to leaving the flatlands behind for the mountains and fresh air of New England.”
I also heard from Jenny Gateno, now Chana Mason. “I wanted to update our class on what I’ve been up to. My husband, Dave, son Aryeh Lev and I are living in the center of Jerusalem in an eclectic artsy neighborhood called Nachlaot. We really love our lives here and are eating organic food, some from our garden, and thriving on the energy of the city. I have been very focused on motherhood for the past five years and am now working on opening a seminary for Jewish women called Shirat Devorah. It is an educational institution built on the strengths of integrative, kinesthetic learning involving the intellect, psyche, body and soul. I’m looking for students, so referrals would be great! Our Web site is www.shiratdevorah.org. Also our home is open to anyone who is visiting Israel, so feel free to be in touch!”
