In case you haven’t heard, the Cat in the Hat is running for U.S. president as “the kids’ candidate.” Unlike other presidential candidates, however, the feline creation of Theodor Geisel ’25, a.k.a. “Dr. Seuss,” did not have any campus visits planned.
ON THE WALL
Aerial dance troupe Bandaloop combined its unique mix of climbing and choreography on the walls near Maffel Arts Plaza September 16. The group also offered vertical dance workshops to students and dined with student climbers.
TRIBAL SUPPORT
Two hundred people met on the Green in support of Native American tribes seeking to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline Project in North Dakota.
FOUL FLORA
A corpse flower in the Dartmouth greenhouse bloomed in mid-September. The plant features one of the largest flowers in the world—and it stinks. Dubbed “Morphy,” the plant last bloomed five years ago.
NEW ARTS HOME
The Hood Downtown exhibition space has opened on Main Street. It serves as the primary physical presence of the Hood Museum during a $40-million renovation.
