Dean of Libraries Appointed
Sue Mehrer, currently the deputy librarian of Cambridge University in England, has been named Dartmouth’s new dean of libraries. Mehrer, who grew up in a small town with no public library, tells DAM she “never discovered libraries properly” until she went to college. “To me they were not just places for learning, they were places of discovery and knowledge that opened up new worlds beyond my studies,” she says. The dean starts December 1.
Professors Retire

Construction Update
»> Demolition for the new Flood renovation project got under way August 1. Meanwhile, College officials announced that construction on the new lodge on Mount Moosllauke will begin the final week of September. Officials expect the work to be completed In August 2017.
