Sally Combes Leahey wrote to me ofthe death of her father, Abbott C. Combes, on October 29. While he was at Dartmouth he was a member of Psi U, Dragon Society, and Green Key and was the executive manager of athletics. Following military service in World War II he and his wife, Mary, settled in the Berkshires in Massachusetts. A couple of days before he died he asked for his Dartmouth cane, to make sure it was in a safe place (it is). A lifelong Red Sox fan, he found out just in time that they won the World Series! I received notice from the College ofthe death of Bob Feller in October.
