Hon. Clarence E. Carr '75, Democratic candidate for governor of New Hampshire, and Hon. Henry F. Hollis, Harvard '90, of Concord, addressed the undergraduate Democratic Club of Dartmouth in Hanover, Oct. 20. A large audience was on hand in addition to the members of the club.
The speakers discussed principally state issues such as the harmful influence of railroads in politics of New Hampshire and a contemplated revision of the tax-laws in order to more justly apportion the taxes between the railroads and the people of the state. The meeting was held in the afternoon in A Dartmouth, as the candidate had to be on hand for a rally in Lebanon early in the evening.
