ELLIE NOYES: The winter track season is almost over. Only Yalewith its best all-time team, remains on the schedule. Lack of depth in the distance runs and injuries to sophomore stars Ford Daley and Bill Zeilman hampered our scoring efforts in the past season. The high point of the year was our one-point win over a good Brown team with a "clutch" mile relay race won by Jack Nunn, Ford Daley, Jim Mueller, and Jerry Boyle. Best individual performance was Rick Husband's third place in the IC4A Meet.

A freshman team, currently undefeated, has its greatest strength in the distance runs. Tom Laris set new cage records for both Alumni Gym and Cornell's Barton Hall in the two-mile run. A team composed of Nick Jennison, Dud Hallagan, Colin Harley, and Tom Laris placed second behind Villanova in the IC4A Freshman Medley Relay. Five Dartmouth sons have competed on the squad.

Moving into the spring, we should show more strength. The discus squad is unique: Juniors Karl Mayer and Rod Isaacson and Sophomore George Ramming have all broken the College discus record, with Ramming holding the best mark.

TOMMY KEANE: There's not much I can say this year. Ten lettermen graduated from last year's team (12-4 record), and our freshman teams for the past three years have been so far below the average of the last fifteen years that things do not look very promising for the next few seasons.

Captain Nick Procino, the only senior on the team, and Rog Bentley are the.only lettermen back. I hope to take twelve players with me on our spring trip — more than ever before. Team candidates making the trip will probably be Steve Auer, Bill Richmond, Hank Marcotte, Bob Argazzi, Scott Bush, Dave Lasher, Howard Goldberg, Bob Nelson, Larry Savage and Dave Britton.

With a lot of hard work and some good breaks in the weather we may come up with a fair team, but nothing like what we've had in recent past years.
