Governor Floyd of New Hampshire has appointed John B. Morrill of Gilford one of a commission of three to investigate the system of taxation of the state and report to the legislature of 1909. William B. Fellows '80 of Tilton is another member of the commission, and the chairman, Harry G. Sargent of Concord, received the honorary degree of A.M. from the College in 1901

Frank G. Wheatley, M.D., who is now serving his second term in the Massachusetts state senate, is prominently mentioned for the Republican nomination for Congress in the Fourteenth district. Doctor Wheatley has made an excellent record during his two terms in the house and two in the senate. He is the leading physician of Aldington, a professor in the medical school of Tufts College, a trustee of the School for the Feeble-minded, and of the Institute for the Insane at Waverly, and pension examiner for Plymouth county.
