The Brown football weekend saw another excellent '45 reunion in Hanover - not as spectacular as the Terrific Twentieth put on by Joe Michael, Shorty Pierce et al., but nevertheless a most enjoyable affair. The executive committee held a fruitful meeting on Friday afternoon and thereafter the weekend was given over to good fellow-ship. Saturday night found the assembled '45s at Brundage Ski Lodge at the Dartmouth Skiway - fittingly given in memory of Pete Brundage by his parents. Present were Jean and Art Pounds, Rosalie and Don Cutter, Allon and Shorty Pierce, Mary and Nick Sandoe, Gina and Griff Strasenburgh, Sally and Jack Gile, Pat and Ted Smith, Elizabeth and Dick Hewitt, Floss and Johnny Brooks, Betty and Cliff Jordan, Edythe and Mac McClintock, John Osborn, Moose Rowan, Vic Smith, Art Nichols, Ruth and John Leggat, Helen and Elie Mover, Jeanne and Frank Hutchins, Anita and Gene Wilkins, Barbara and Ted White and Rickie and Don Cole. Also seen at the football game were Paul Glover and DickWelch.

It is now obvious that Ray Fontana's excellent job of running the class auction in June, along with Rex Felton, was that of a professional rather than an amateur. Ray was recently appointed official greeter of the Columbus Day celebration in Springfield, Mass., and is also serving as the president of the Springfield Association of Insurance Agents. Ray has had service as Naval Aide to ex-Gov. Volpe in '61-'62, holds posts of responsibility in his local (Longmeadow) government and has served as president of the Springfield Dartmouth Club and local community center - a busy man to say the least.

Ken Nicholson also made the news in the Springfield area as his number one son, Ken, received an appointment to the U. S Military Academy. But to show that scholastic achievements are not just for the oncoming generation, word has it that BobHeath is now a Ph.D. candidate at UCLA, while Ray O'Crowley (Major, USAF) was graduated in June from the USAF Command and Staff College, Air University, Maxwell AFB, Ala., and Fred Berthold received an honorary doctor of divinity degree and was the baccalaureate speaker at the University of Vermont in June.

Belated congratulations to Duck Drake who was married in May to Jean Frey Harrison in Short Hills, N. J. Duck is president of Lehigh Warehouse and Transportation Co., Newark.

Allan Smith, Episcopal priest, and member of the Order of the Holy Cross, was in the vicinity of Hanover recently as he participated in a retreat offered to women of the church. He is returning to Nigeria in the near future where he has already spent some time. The good father would find us interested readers if he has the time to bring us up to date on his activities.

Fred Alderman has been promoted to branch manager of the Columbus, Ohio, sales office for the Foxboro Co. Fred joined the Massachusetts-based firm in 1954 and has been a sales engineer in the Cleveland, Ohio, office up to his recent promotion. The holder of a master's degree in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Fred had served as a project engineer for the U.S. Finishing Co., as a sales engineer with Fischer & Porter Co., and as assistant sales manager for the process division of Swartwout Co. before joining Foxboro.
