It has already been shown editorially and in the news section of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE; that the college mortality tables at the end of the first semester showed a rate of failures for fraternity men about twice as large as that for their non-fraternity brothers. It is difficult to say what is the exact relationship between fraternities and scholarship, but the facts of the situation have been compiled statistically by the Registrar. Figures are given for all classes for the last five semesters. It will be noted that the difference in scholarship between fraternity and nonfraternity men remains constant at about four points, the causes affecting a rise or fall in scholarship affecting both groups equally. The tabulation follows:
