The winter sports season ended with the election of captains for basketball and hockey. Vic Mair of East Canton, Ohio, a 6-1 play-making guard, will lead the 1964-65 quintet. The hockey team chose as its captain, Jim Cooper of Rochester, Minn. Cooper was often the spark which ignited the Green third line's production of sixteen goals in twelve games.
Both captains-elect are two-sport athletes. Mair is on the track team as a hop, step, and jumper, and Cooper plays midfleld on the lacrosse team. Both men are also perfect examples of the scholar-athlete. Mair received five citations from professors in English, music, biology, and biography. Cooper is a pre-medical student with a heavy load of afternoon labs.
