At its annual meeting in March, the town of Hanover voted to appropriate a sum of ten thousand dollars towards the proposed new bridge across the Connecticut, on condition that the full amount needed to pay for the bridge should be otherwise secured without further expense to the town. The town of Norwich similarly appropriated a sum of twenty-five hundred dollars.

President Nichols has been re-elected to the presidency of the New Hampshire Peace Society.
