THE SUMMER SESSION
August, 1915

The Summer Session of the College opened on July 6, and after a term, satisfactory from every point of view, came to a close on August 14. Because of the more stringent regulations by the Faculty in regard to the terms of admission than have heretofore been in force, the number of undergraduates enrolled this year is much decreased, but the presence of many teachers from New Hampshire who have taken advantage of the free tuition offered them by the College and of many more from New York who were attracted by the excellent opportunities to combine a vacation in the hill country with advanced study in their special fields, brings the total registration to a figure forty-one greater than that of last year.

Courses have been offered in fourteen different departments by twenty-one instructors. Twelve of these instructors are members of the regular Dartmouth faculty; the remaining nine are Superintendents McAndrew of New York City and Bliss of Montclair, N. J.; Dr. W. J. Taylor of the Brooklyn Training School for Teachers; Dr. C. W. Crampton, Director of Physical Training, Public Schools of New York City; Miss O'Keefe, Inspector of Athletics, New York City Schools; Professors Langley of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Young of the University of Texas, Hall of the University of Wisconsin, and Mr. Jack Crawford of Yale.

The statistical summary which follows is taken from the directory of the Session, published by Director Bingham:
