Matt Bushnell Jones of the Class of 1894 on October 29, 1917 was made a Vice-President and Director of the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. The President of this company was recently commissioned a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Signal Corps of the National Army and during his absence Mr. Jones will perform the duties of the President. Upon graduation from Dartmouth Mr. Jones attended the Law School of Harvard University, receiving the degree of LL. B. in 1897, at once beginning the practice of law in Boston. The following year he entered the law firm of Powers (Dartmouth '74), Hall (Dartmouth '92), & Jones (Dartmouth '94). In 1904 he resigned from this firm and was made Counsel for the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. Since February of this year he has been General Counsel of the company in charge of legal matters and matters before the Public Service Commissions in the New England states in which the company operates. As Vice-Presiden he will continue to direct this work in addition to being in general charge of the company's affairs.
