At the request of the War Department, all fraternity activities within the College have been suspended for the year. Houses and meeting-rooms are all of them closed completely, and no meetings of any sort are to be held. With the knowledge that this condition of affairs was about to come, the fraternities hastened at the beginning of the year to make have while the sun shone, and inaugurated a swift and open chinning season, pledging their quotas of freshmen during the first few days of College, in a manner strongly reminding one of the good old days of the nineties. Initiations were held during the second week of College in order that all activities might be concluded before the induction of the students into the S. A. T. C. took place.
