H. S. Glendeniring, Dartmouth 1918, of Norwalk, Conn., has been awarded the Rhodes Scholarship appointment for 1919 as representative of the New Hampshire colleges according to the list of appointments recently made public by Professor Frank Aydelotte, M. I. T., American Secretary to the Cecil Rhodes trustees. Glendenning received his degree Summa Cum Laude, was a Rufus Choate Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He also received the Hazeltine Prize for Physics and Chemistry, the Warren Prize Scholarship and highest departmental honors in chemis- try. Competition was unusually keen this year, Professor Aydelotte said, owing to the great- ly increasing interest in England that has come during the past few years.
