ATHLETIC CARNIVAL
March 1920

The first annual indoor athletic carnival, held in Alumni Gymnasium January 29, met with unqualified success. The affair killed two birds with one stone by arousing undergraduate interest in the newly organized minor sports, at the same time boosting the Mary Hitchcock Hospital! fund with a contribution of $300 from the gate receipts. Boxing, wrestling, and fencing matches, and an exhibition by the gym team made up the program for the evening. The feature event of the Carnival was a six-round bout between Eddie Shevlin, boxing instructor, and Johnnie Parkes.
