SPRING FOOTBALL

Under the direction of Jackson L. Cannell '19, assistant football coach for next season, candidates for the 1920 eleven are preparing to go through a period of spring training, the first official work of its kind since pre-war days. All men expecting to try for positions on the team have been called out already and only track and baseball men will be exempt from practice.

..The work of this preliminary training will necessarily be light, aiming chiefly at a development of the open game and perfection of the jump shift which was used so successfully by Coach Spears last fall. An attempt will also be made to develop a new punter, capable of filling Captain Robertson's shoes when he is out of the game.
