PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE CONSTITUTIONS OF THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AND THE ALUMNI COUNCIL

At the annual meeting of the Alumni Association to be held on Monday of Commencement Week, the following changes in the constitutions of the Association and the Alumni Council will be proposed by the Alumni Council. The changes are indicated by italics.

In most cases the purpose of the change is self-evident. In Article 5, Section 7 of the Constitution of the Alumni Association, the intention is to provide means by which nominations for vacancies in the position of Alumni Trustee may be made at the regular meetings of the Council, unless urgency should demand quicker action, in which case a special meeting should be called.

PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE CONSTITUTION OFTHE ASSOCIATION OF THE ALUMNI

Article 4—Section 4 :

(p. 11, line 29) ... no alumnus of less than three years' standing however, shall be eligible to vote for the nomination of any trustee or forthe election of a councilor....

Article 5—Section 7 :

In case of a vacancy, or vacancies, occurring in any alumni trusteeship otherwise than by the expiration of a stated term of five years, the Council shall be forthwith informed thereof by the Secretary of the Association. Nominationfor the vacancy, or- vacancies, shall then bemade at the next regular meeting of the Counciland the balloting shall take place as soon aspracticable thereafter. If, however, it shall appear to the Executive Committee of the AlumniCouncil desirable for any reason to expeditesuch election, a special meeting of the Councilmay be called to effect a nomination. The name of such a candidate shall be published in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, (etc. as already in the constitution).

PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE ALUMNI

Article 3—Section 1 :

The officers of this Council shall be a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. There shall also be an Executive Committeeconsisting of the president, secretary and threeother members, and such sub-committees as the Council, in its discretion, may from time to time appoint.

Article 3—Section 2 :

These officers and the executive committee shall be elected annually for a term of one year.

Article 4—Section 2 :

The Council shall meet not less than twice annually and one of these meetings shall be held in Hanover, N. H., at such time beforethe annual meeting of the Association of Alumni of Dartmouth College as may seem expedient to the Council. The date of this meetingshall be decided upon at the fall meeting of theCouncil, provided, however, that at any timethis date may be changed by order of the Executive Committee.

Article s—Section 2—Sub-section 4:

(p. 22, line 2) The elective membership shall be as follows: 3 members from the New England States and that part of Canada, includingQuebec and the provinces to the east; (etc. as already in the constitution).

(p. 22, line 4) 3 members from the States of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, states south of the Ohio River and east of the Mississippi River, the District of Columbia, and the Province of Ontario inCanada; (etc. as already in the constitution).

(p. 22, line 17) 3 members from the Rocky Mountain and Pacific States, including all states and Canadian Provinces not hereinbefore mentioned and all outlying possessions of the UnitedStates, (etc. as already in the constitution).

(p. 23, line 12) The polls shall close at sixo'clock p.m. on the Saturday preceding the annual meeting of the Association of the Alumniof Dartmouth College.
