November 1923

A radiogram from station WNP (Wireless North Pole) located at the schooner Bowdoin, latitude 78.30 N., longitude 72.30 w., and dated 12.19 a. m., October 4, was received October 13 by Professor John M. Poor from Richard Goddard '20, a member of the Donald MacMillan Arctic expedition.

The message which read: "Winter quarters Refuge Harbor, Greenland, 78.30 north. All well. Winter setting in rapidly. Regards to all," was relayed to Professor Poor by J. Barnsley, a radio operator of Prince Rupert, B. C.

Goddard, who in college was prominent in Outing Club activities, is making a study of terrestrial magnetism. He accompanied MacMillan on the explorer's previous trip to the North.
