An impromptu reception in honor of E.D. Redington class of 1861 was staged by V.R. Salinger 'OO for the Southern California Alumni Association. Major Redington's presence in Los Angeles was rather unexpected, and therefore on the hasty round-up, only a few Dartmouth alumni in Southern California could be assembled. But they gave very tangible evidence to Major Redington that the Southern California Association was very much alive and strongly imbued with the usual Dartmouth spirit.
The reception also of course celebrated the Dartmouth victory over Harvard and a wire was sent to Jesse Hawley congratulating him.
The following were present:
"E. D. Redington '61, R.B. Merrill '08, Paul G. Redington '00, V.R. Salinger '00, George P. Laton '06, Willis Hodgkins '99, Eck Hiestand '10, Karl R. Sleeper '00, Ray Bennett '13, R.B. Ahlswede 'l2, James J. Norton '08, C.G. Milham '06."
