Recurring discussion in regard to the influence of the church on the life of today invariably leads to consideration of the minister and of his obligations,—and sometimes of his difficulties. The College rejoices that among its graduates every now and then is found some man who visualizes the opportunities offered by the Christian ministry and who, as a strong man to run a race, goes forth to meet the great challenge of work within this field.

This degree is conferred in recognition of the record of completed achievement which is yours in an important pastorate until recently held and in anticipation of the record which you will make in the vital work to which you have recently gone.
