George M. Hubbard, W. P. Westervelt, P. L. Mottelay, and A. E. Devoe have withdrawn from W. A. White and Sons, and have formed a new corporation for the transaction of a brokerage business in real estate mortgages. The new firm will have offices at 18 East 41st St., New York city. Announcement to this effect was made formally on November 12.
Mr. Malcolm Leach, the son of R. M. Leach, was married on the 29th of November to Miss Eleanor Dunlop at Providence, R. I.
The Taunton Daily Gazette published on October 11 a long and very fine appreciation of R. M. Leach, who was recently chosen to fill an unexpired term in Congress. "Bob" received a heavier vote than Coolidge. We hope that Bob will be encouraged by the gratifying returns to enter the Congressional race again.
On December 3 Governor Cox nominated Davis B. Keniston to be chairman of the Metropolitan District Commission, a position the salary of which is $6000 a year. The BostonTranscript remarks that they were in Dartmouth together, but doesn't suspect that the appointment may have been fixed up years ago m Hanover in the house next to Dan Webster's! We congratulate the governor on a splendid selection.
