EDWIN B. DOOLEY ELECTED CAPTAIN OF 1925 ELEVEN
January, 1925

At a meeting of the varsity football letter men ten days after the close of the season, Edwin B. Dooley '26, was elected as next year s grid leader. It is not necessary to introduce to our readers the sensational captain elect. His stellar work of the past season has made his name a by-word in every Dartmouth household.

Dooley has two years of varsity football to his credit and piloted his freshman team as well. Last year he won varsity letters in basketball and track as well. The former feat occasioned no particular surprise as he had captained his yearling five but it is; noteworthy when any man takes a first place while participating in his first track meet. He also was awarded his numerals in freshman baseball.

Athletics, however, do not occupy all of Dooley's attention. He is a member of the Bema staff and a regular contributor to its pages. His poetry is of a high order. His classroom work is also of sufficiently high standard to permit his selection as pilot of Dartmouth's "Phi Beta Kappa" football team which averaged 2.9.

The new leader prepared for Dartmouth at St. Johns in Brooklyn where he was a four letter man. He is a member of the Green Key and Delta Kappa Epsilon.
