Several speakers of prominence have recently addressed the men of the Thayer School.
On February 12, Mr. Clinton W. Mayers, vice-president and chief engineer of the Morton C. Tuttle Co., Boston, spoke on "Cost Accounting and Building Estimating. On the next day, Mr. Albert A. Northrop of Stone and Webster, Inc., delivered an illustrated lecture on "Power" tracing the development of steam and electrical energy.
Mr. Clarence D. Pollock, consulting engineer of New York City, was in Hanover, on February 16, to speak on "Stone Block Pavements." On February 19, Mr. William C. Perkins, chief engineer of the Eastern Paving Brick Association, spoke on
'Maintenance of Brick Pavements." On February 20, "The Personnel Problem in the Construction Industry" was discussed by Mr. O. R. Rietschlin of the Morton C. Tuttle Cos. Early in the month, the school also enjoyed the "Edison Service" film.
