Capturing 11 firsts and tying for another the first-year track team easily vanquished the Springfield freshmen to 31% on Memorial Field May 2. In the 880 Talbot of Dartmouth and Bollier of Springfield raced abreast for the last 200 yards and fell across the tape in a tie. Abother tie occurred in the mile but as it was between two Dartmouth men, Keith and Robertson, had no effect on the score.
Comparative weakness in the field events gave Exeter the verdict in the yearling's second meet at Exeter May 9. Captain Glendinning, star freshman sprinter, pulled a tendon in the 100 and is probably out for the season. Many of the times recorded in this meet were practically as fast as those turned in by the varsity. The score was 76½ to 49½.
Without the services of Glendinning, the freshmen faced Andover at Ando'ver May 16 and were just barely nosed out. Borah and Toolan, prep school sprinters, lowered the Academy 440 record to 49 3-5 and the 220 mark to 21 4-5 respectively. The final count was 69 2-3 to 56 1-3 in favor of Andover.
