GRADUATES OF MIDDLE EIGHTIES MAY HELP PROF. McCALLUM

To the Editor, DARTMOUTH ALUMNI MAGAZINE :

I wish in the near future to write up Matthew Arnold's visit to Dartmouth in '83. Some of the dealing with the visit is available in print—there is an article by Kate Sanborn, and notices in The Dartmouth for that year, and I expect to uncover other articles. But there is undoubtedly much material that survives only in the memories of those who were in Hanover at that time. I shall welcome, therefore, any information which your readers are able to give me impressions, anecdotes, or facts.
