TRUSTEES MEET IN HANOVER
August, 1925

A meeting of the trustees of Dartmouth College was held in their room in the Parkhurst Administration Building in Hanover, on the 20th day of June, 1925, at nine o'clock in the forenoon.

There were present the President and Messrs. Parkhurst, Brown, Thayer, Lord, Little, Howland, DuBois, and Tuttle.

The President made a verbal report of his visit to the alumni on the Pacific coast and of the progress and the condition of the College. Resignation of Mr. Moore

The resignation of Mr. Henry L. Moore as trustee, on the completion of a service of ten years, was received and accepted.

Election of Trustee

A letter was received from Eugene F. Clark, secretary of the alumni association, stating that Edward W. Knight, of the class of 1887, had been nominated as trustee by the alumni council to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Henry L. Moore. Mr. Knight was thereupon unanimously elected to the vacant place by ballot.

Award of Degrees On the recommendation of the faculty, the following degrees were awarded as of April 13, 1925:

Voluntary Chapel ServiceVoted that beginning with the next academic year the College establish the daily service of the College chapel on the basis of voluntary attendance,, and that the President be requested to secure someone to conduct such service on such terms as may seem to him best.

Degree of A. B. on Graduation A recommendation was received from the faculty in; regard to the conferring at graduation of the degree of A.B. only instead of the two degrees of ALB. and 8.5., and in regard to the course of study. After a long discussion of the recommendation it was

Voted, I. That in accordance with the recommendation of the faculty, the College, beginning with the class entering in 1925, will grant to students graduating in course, the degree of A.B. only.

11. That the trustees ratify the action of the faculty of May 18, 1925, in modifying the curriculum.

Appreciation to the Class of 1925Voted that the President be requested to express to the class of 1925 the high appreciation of the trustees for the announced purpose of the class to make a future generous contribution in support of the College, and further

Voted that the President express the thanks of the Trustees for the presentation to them by the class of 1925 of attractive programs of the commencement exercises of this year, and of mementos of the graduation of the class. On the recommendation of the President, action was taken by ballot on elections, reelections and promotions, and on appointments and reappointments, as follows:

A report to the President of an investigation which had been made into student finances, having been previously distributed to the trustees, was taken up for discussion, and after much consideration it was

Voted that beginning with the academic year 1926-1927 the tuition of the College be $400 a year, with such adjustment of scholarship aid as may be appropriate.
