Dartmouth's basketball team suffered the second and most decisive defeat of its early season when a strong Harvard quintet flashed against the Hanover team an offense that swept it off its feet. Although the Dartmouth team showed strength equal to Harvard's during most of the first period Harvard rushed into a tie before the half was closed and then drew ahead of the northern invaders.

The first period ended with the score at 14 to 14, after Dartmouth had assumed the lead only to be overtaken. During the second period the Green players were held to three baskets from the floor while Harvard men scored with little difficulty.

Captain Smith, of the Harvard team was the leading scorer of the contest with a total of 17 points to his credit, Leekly followed with 10 points, Coombs four, Mallick three, ana Raub two. For Dartmouth Whittaker scored six points, Langdell five, McFadden and Gordon four each, and Dey two.
