Dartmouth track men met their first competition of the present season when the varsity one mile relay team raced against the teams of the University of Maryland and the University of Pennyslvania in the Athletic Carnival of the Millrose A. A. held at New York February 4. Dartmouth finished second to the Maryland team which won the event with a time of 3 minutes 27 9-10 seconds.

The relay team competed again at the B. A. A. games in Boston February 6, defeating the Brown one mile team.

At Portland, Maine February 13, another one mile team defeated the Boston College team in a race included in the Portland American Legion games.

Two records for the indoor board track have been broken during the past month at Alumni Gymnasium. G- Glendenning '28 and T. Rose '27 together bettered the quarter mile record previously held by Frank Lagay 'l7, when they covered the distance in 52 3-10 seconds. Lagay's record was 52 2-5. The half mile record of two min. 2-5 seconds held by Paul Harmon '13 was lowered by S. H. Martin '27 who ran the distance in two minutes flat.

Coach Harvey Cohn's call for freshman track candidates brought out 75 of the first year men who are now working daily in the gymnasium under his direction.
