CHICAGO ASSOCIATION.
April 1926 W. E. Terry

At the four luncheons held during the month of February we had an average attendance of fifty-six men at each luncheon. The guests of importance consisted of J. P. Harrold, Cornell '93, president of the Cornell Association of Chicago, who spoke a few words to us, and Dean Laycock who because of the banquet in the evening was excused from making a speech.

On the night of February IS we held our annual banquet at the University Club. Two hundred men attended, and I believe it was the most successful annual banquet this Association has ever held. Dean Craven Laycock was of course the principal speaker, and at no time has he reached the hearts of Dartmouth men more successfully than he did on this occasion. Nowhere could he be more loved than he is here, and we wish that he could be with us more frequently. President Jack Childs '09 acted as toastmaster, and called on the following men, who spoke a few words to us : Coach Jess Hawley '09, W. G. Strong, Cornell '94, president of Eastern College Association; J. P. Harrold, Cornell '93, president of Cornell Association; James Braden, Yale '20, of the Chicago Daily News, who has been very kind to us in the way of publicity, and the grand old man of this Association, Major E. D. Redington, Dartmouth 1861.

Others who sat at the speakers' table were: Major J. L. Wier, West Point '11, head master of Lake Forest Academy; Ned Ames, Wabash '03, and R. R. Fauntleroy, father of an undergraduate. Also J. P. Richards, Yale '06, president Lake Forest Academy.

After the speaking the results of the election of officers for the year were announced, as follows: president, Arba J. Irvin '02; vice- president, Warren D. Bruner '12; secretary and treasurer, William E. Terry '21; executive committee, Nat Leverone '06, Art Myers '13.
