It was voted at the regular monthly faculty meeting to change the foreign language requirements for admission, substituting for those advanced by the new curriculum another set presented with the recommendations of the departments of foreign languages. These requirements will take effect with the class of 1932.
The new requirements read as follows: "Beginning with the class entering in 1928, the requirements in foreign language for admission and for the bachelor's degree may be satisfied as follows:
"1. (a) By presenting a minimum of five units of foreign language (ancient or modern, not less than two units in any language) and by continuing for one year in college any language offered for admission;
"(b) By presenting three units in one foreign language (ancient or modern) and by continuing that language for one year in college.
"2. Any student entering under (a) or (b) and wishing to begin French or German may, upon statement of the department concerned that he has a satisfactory reading knowledge of any foreign languages presented for admission, substitute for the language requirement in college two years of French or German."
