DARTMOUTH GRADUATES FORM FLORIDA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Dartmouth alumni, 48 strong, gathered recently at the Soreno hotel St. Petersburg, Florida, and formed the Florida Alumni Association of Dartmouth college, with Frank S. Dodge, 1911, as president, and John Allen, 1923, as secretary.
Dinner was enjoyed in the palm room on the mezzanine floor and the after dinner talks by Dartmouth alumni proved interesting and enjoyable. Mr. Dodge was chairman of the committee in charge, assisted by Mr. Allen and P. E. Bennett, 1920. The main purpose of the dinner was to gather together as many Dartmouth alumni in the state of Florida and get their addresses for the permanent organization.
The association desires to include every Dartmouth man in Florida as the only other alumni association of the college in the south is at Atlanta, Ga. Florida has grown so rapidly and there are so many Dartmouth men in the state that the need of such an organization is evident.
After dinner speakers at the meeting included Malcolm Rollins '11of Sarasota, Ex-Governor A. O. Brown '78 of New Hampshire, W. F. Eaton '99, D. Sidney Rollins '04, T. C. H. Bouton '78, and Ernest C. Swain '14. It was voted to have at least one annual meeting in St. Petersburg each year during the winter season and as many other get-togethers as possible.
Dartmouth songs were sung throughout the dinner, between courses, with Leonard Joy '16 as accompanist.
