NEWTON A. FROST DIES IN HANOVER
August, 1926

On July 5 Newton A. Frost, a long-time resident of Hanover and known to many Dartmouth men, died at his home in Hanover. He was born in Charlestown, N. H., on November 6, 1851, and came to Hanover in 1873 to open a store as a watch-repairer. For many years he conducted and expanded this business until he sold the business in 1907. He had by this time developed a large insurance business and to this he gave his full time until 1924 when he sold to Gile and Brackett. He was a trustee of the Dartmouth Savings Bank for thirty years and director of the Dartmouth National Bank for thirty-one years. Since 1923, on the death of Mr. C. P. Chase, he had been president of the Savings Bank. Many Dartmouth men will remember his friendliness and material assistance in time of need.
