W. H. SHATTUCK DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
August, 1926

Waldo Hall Shattuck, of Worcester, Mass., an instructor in the Romance Languages department, died May 22 at Green Harbor, Mass., as a result of a long sickness following an abdominal operation three years ago from which he never fully recovered.

Mr. Shattuck was born in Worcester, August 3, 1892 and was graduated from Harvard University with the degree of Bachelor of Science in the class of 1916, and was awarded the degree of Master of Arts in 1921.

After leaving Milton Academy, Milton, Mass., where he was an instructor in Mathematics and English from 1918 to 1920, Mr. Shattuck came to Dartmouth in 1921 as an instructor in the Romance Languages department.

He was taken ill at the beginning of February and fighting against great odds attempted to keep on teaching his classes, but was forced to give up after the first two weeks of the second semester. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Chandler Shattuck.
