Report of the Executive Committee
DECEMBER 1927

Mr. McDavitt, chairman of the Executive Committee, reported on a number of matters that had been referred to it by the Council. One question had to do with the desirability of redistricting the Council territory for election purposes. A letter sent to the members of the Council, asking for opinions on this matter, brought replies from about half the membership indicating considerable thought on the matter, but a variety of opinion. In view of the fact that the constitution as now in operation may obviate to some extent the danger that elected members to the Council will be concentrated in one center rather than distributed according to representative needs, and in view of the fact that the question is a complicated and difficult one, it was felt that the matter should be kept in committee for further study and report at a later meeting of the Council.

Mr. McDavitt then presented a communication from Mr. Henry B. Thayer, chairman of the Committee on the Physical Development of the Plant of the Board of Trustees, relative to future needs of the College. Mr. McDavitt was authorized as president of the Council to appoint at his discretion a committee to develop and present to the Council such plan of cooperation as might appear to be practicable. Voted:

That the recommendation of the Executive Committee be approved.
