Dartmouth defeated Syracuse University in the one-mile relay and Captain Wells won the 45-yard hurdles at the B.A.A. games in Boston February 4. The Green turned in the fastest college time of the meet in winning the relay. Syracuse pressed all the way and Swope, the Dartmouth anchor man, fought off Barbutti for the last few yards to win the race in the time of 3 min. 30 2-5 sec. Monty Wells had little difficulty in defeating a large field in the high hurdles. His time for each of the three races in which he ran was 6 1-5 sec. Collier of Brown, joint holder with Wells of the world's record of 5 4-5 sec. was defeated in the semifinal.
