Natt Emerson has just brought out the 1900 class report for 1927, and in «it appears one of the finest tributes to the memory of Irving French we have seen. Cordial relations between the two classes have always existed (since 1897 any way) but it is unusual for a class to pay such a tribute to a man of another Class, and we should all express to Natt and the class of 1900 our heartiest thanks and appreciation.
We understand the Salomons have a candidate for the class of 1951. What a great pleasure it will be for Henry and Lucia to attend our SOth reunion, and have a son graduating the same year. Henry's office is in the Rhode Island Hospital Trust Company, and we understand cigars in honor of the new arrival can be secured upon request.
Squash Mclntyre, Ike Washburn, and the Secretary made up the 1901 delegation at the Chicago alumni dinner this year. Hoppy as the guest of honor made one of his usual talks, full of all kinds of wisdom, information in regard to the College, and the functions of such an institution as Dartmouth.
Ike Washburn is now located with the Shepard Service, Sellars Building, Chicago, where he will be glad to secure positions for any of the class looking for new jobs.
Warner Crowell writes that checks are coming in slowly for the Alumni Fund. We feel that Dungie is to be complimented on his class spirit, in undertaking this work, so ably carried on by Irving French for many years, and we do hope all will help him, by sending in their contributions as soon as possible. The Capt. French Fund of the class of 1901 must always go over the top, and the sooner we all send our money along to Dungie, the easier it will be for him.
We note from a news item in the BostonGlobe that Jim McCarten has been reelected mayor of Newport, Vt., for the third term. Jim has certainly carried his honors in a dignified and modest way, for we are sure not many of us were aware of the honor conferred upon him by his fellow-townsmen.
