At the annual round-up which is held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Matt B. Jones there were present this year the following thirty- eight men: Adams Hall Merrill, C. C. Allen, F. C. Ham Norris Allen, J. E. Hodsdon Palmer Ames Hoskins Parker Bartlett, J. H. Hurd Penniman Bartlett, R. W. Jones Phillips Berry Knowlton Rollins, W. H. Blakely Lewis Sawyer Brown Lovejoy Sherman Claggett Lyon Spooner Colby McGroty Stone, A. W. Dutton Mann, G. E. Stone, E. M. Griffin Marden
It was also good to have around the tables Jones' older son, Walter L., Dartmouth 1923.
Several men were there for the first time, bringing the total number of different men who have been at these round-ups during the years well up to sixty. It was good to see "Billy" Mann, who was in the hospital at the time of the reunion. Billy has lost in weight but gained in health. Gifford was absent on account of a recent hospital experience but Ham reported him as on the sure road to recovery. George Brown was another man who reported himself in improved health. Lewis, Griffin, Spooner, Lovejoy, Palmer, and Phillips, who were unable to be at the reunion, were greeted with a special heartiness. Hodsdon had recently met with the loss of his wife and all the more welcomed this opportunity for meeting his classmates. Jim McGroty reported himself to have joined the ranks of those who have "retired," which will doubt- less mean, in his case as in that of others, that he will be free to be busy about many things. The word was passed around that Howard had left a substantial sum to his town of Marlow for a library.
The dinner was, if possible, better than usual, likewise the fellowship, likewise the appreciation on the part of all the men of the remarkable hospitality that Jones and his wife are showing year after year.
