Proposed Changes in Council Constitution
May 1929

In order to promote representation of sections of the country which might not otherwise have representatives on the Alumni Council and also to procure the election of members who for any specific reason may be able to render a particular service to the Council and the College the following proposals for changes in the constitution of the Alumni Council will be proposed at the meeting of the Alumni Association in June.

Article V, Section 2, now reads: "The Council shall consist of twenty-five members."

It is proposed that this be changed to read: "The Council shall consist of members."

The twelfth paragraph in the same section now reads: "Three members to be elected from the alumni at large by the members of this Council as provided for above, one such member to be elected each year for a term of three years."

It is proposed that this be changed to read: "Six members to be elected from the alumni at large by the members of this Council, two such members to be elected each year for a term of three years."

The changes proposed from the present constitution are indicated by italics.

If these changes are approved the meeting will also be asked to pass an enabling resolution permitting the Council to put the system into effect by electing one of the additional members for three years, one for two years, and one for one year.

This notice is printed in accordance with the constitutional provision that proposed changes in the constitution of the Council must be printed in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE at least one month before the meeting of the Alumni Association at which they will be presented.
