The book of sports activities for the winter season is now closed, and without regrets those who follow the Big Green teams closely turn to baseball, tennis, lacrosse, hoping for a change in luck, for as far as Dartmouth victories were concerned during February and March the results have been somewhat depressing. But undergraduates are often too prone to stress the victories to the exclusion of every other factor, and to label a season as a failure simply because the team does not win its games. It seems to be the general idea of sports in America, however, to take this attitude, and nothing can convince some of the rabid sportsmen of our day that there is such a thing as the spirit of competition and the good contacts the teams make with sister institutions. That is the way things go, and we can only look forward to next year.
